Yes, providing you were insured before you headed out on your assignment and want to extend your cover
This policy is designed for journalists and any member of the media heading out on an assignment with reduced cover in their own country. A policy can be bought by an individual or by a media organisation who wants to insure an individual they have engaged in some way.
The cover is for 24 hours in the policy day, when you are working and at rest, in two sections:
Section One: Accidental death and disablement
Section Two: Sickness and accident medical expenses including emergency recovery from the point of the incident to an appropriate care facility, plus repatriation home when required.
Sum insured: $ 100,000 to $1 Million per section
Premium: Based on zone and number of weeks
Deductible: Section two, $ 250 each and every claim
Yes. You can purchase a policy for any period of time from one week up to 52 weeks.
Percentage figures represent the percentage of the accidental death sum insured that is payable for different types of disablement:
1. Accidental Death – 100%
2. Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of both eyes – 100%
3. Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye – 50%
4. Loss of two limbs – 50%
5. Loss of one limb – 50%
6. Permanent Total Disablement (other than total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one or both eyes or loss of limb(s) from accident or illness) – 100%
If an insured person has a successful disablement claim and receives 50% of the sum insured, then as a direct result of the same incident they die within 12 months of that incident, then the balance of the claim is payable. No claim in section one can be more than the accidental death sum insured. We include cover in conflict / war zones, including travelling in a military vehicle as a passenger without additional premium.
